Best Western Shallotte/Ocean Isle Beach Hotel

Our stay at Best Western was great, but what truly made it exceptional was Amber at the front desk. She was an absolute gem—the sweetest, hardest-working person we encountered across our entire 12-day trip staying at multiple hotels. Amber was dressed professionally, carried herself with grace, and somehow managed to multitask effortlessly while making every guest feel valued and taken care of. She was truly everything at this hotel. If I could give her a hundred stars, I absolutely would. The leadership at this location should recognize and appreciate her dedication—she’s the kind of person every hotel needs. The hotel itself was clean and well-kept. The pool was inviting and spotless, and we even saw some cute green lizards near the white fencing by the outdoor AC units, which was a fun little surprise. Breakfast was also a highlight—great variety and quality. The only downside was that the AC in the rooms could be a bit stronger. However, Amber went above and beyond to address our concern. She personally showed us another room to confirm the system was working the same throughout the hotel, helping set clear expectations. Thanks again, Amber, for making our stay so pleasant. You are the heart of that hotel!

I only stay at this hotel when I come home because it is in a great location, breakfast is included and the staff is super nice.

I would say this is a perfectly adequate hotel. The location is good. Less than 30 mins to Holden Beach and Ocean Isle. Shallotte proper is only 10 mins away. The rooms are a good size and comfortable. The a/c was a bit finicky, but it wasn't too difficult to get it to the right setting. The included breakfast was fine. The two egg options didn't look very appetizing. But they did have waffles and biscuits & gravy, though, so that was a plus. A couple items my kids wanted ran out before they could get some and the staff quickly replaced them. We'll likely stay there again the next time we are in the area.

Stayed Sunday night to Thursday night for work. First night the room next to me was pretty loud, not the hotels fault, but after that night it was fairly quiet the rest of the week.Breakfast was decent. Room was decent. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Over all great stay.

Room was adequate for a night. Easy to get in n out and close for what we needed. The downside was breakfast, one of worse I have seen especially for a larger chain. No protein to speak of and nothing fresh. So that's keeps it from a five star.

Recently renovated and was better than I expected. Stayed the night for a baseball tournament was perfect for that purpose. Clean rooms, functional laundry and ice machine, decent pool and gym, and pretty good breakfast included.
